Seems .... a chapter from Ruskin Bond opens at my place...

a view from my balcony...

i stay at aarey colony .. goregaon. i havent seen much of mumbai but i am sure it is one of the greenest areas in mumbai... the life inside aarey colony is just opposite to the life outside...
You can hear chirping of birds all through the day. The rustling of wind through the trees.. and the perfect scenary through my balcony. There are lots of different, colourful and beautiful birds over here..all started making their nests by now.
Outside my window is a coconut tree. Its home for a huge yellow eagle and four weaving birds. This huge yellow eagle is a beauty in itself and has a baby. While the eagle flies out, the lots of crows who also live on nearby trees torture the baby eagle. oh!!! even the eagle has been troubling the other birds and me when i go to the terrace...
A few days back, when it hadnt started raining, we kept a vessel filled with water on the terrace for the birds. And every evening i used to refill it.
One day i just thought of sitting far and see the birds drinkin water.i noticed a pattern in them. At a time only small bird come to have water. then comes the crows. OMG! there are lots of crows in mumbai. Though these crows keep crowing all day (which is very irritating at times), there was a very interesting pattern i got to see in them. First the elder crows drink the water,( i think they are elder coz they are lighter in colour and they have a mustach kind of thingcoming out from the sides of their beak) till they are not done the younger ones( darker and shiny ones) stand aside and wait for them. And when the king crow ( giant, shiny and jet black) comes all the crows stand a distance apart. i have never seen an eagle coming to drink the water.. i wonder where does he go all day.. even when these birds keep fighting , there is a sense of sharing when it comes to food.

there is a way of living...designed by nature .. for the birds and for the trees and the humans too .. which i think must be the right way of living... if we go against the nature, the nature would go against us....These birds could understand it ..... i wish we humans were enough intelligent to understand it..
